Ayia Napa is located in the eastern coast of Cyprus very close to Famagusta City and is maybe the most famous holiday destination of Cyprus. This is due to its natural beauty, full of blue flag golden sandy beaches with crystal clear waters such as Nissi Beach, Fig Tree, Konnos and Makronisos. Especially during the summer it gets full of locals and tourists who go there to enjoy the amazing sandy beaches, hot weather and crazy nightlife.

Ayia Napa is ideal for every kind of water sport. You can choose between snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, sailing, parachuting and more. It is a great idea to go on a boat trip and see the whole coast of Ayia Napa and Protaras, go close to the ghost city of Ammochostos, view the impressive rock structures at the sea caves of Cape Greko, admire the Lover's Bridge and then take a swim in Blue Lagoon.

One of the most intriguing landmarks of Agia Napa is known as the Palaces or Sea Caves which can be found between Kermia beach and Cape Greco. It is a breathtaking place where those who are courageous and good swimmers can dive off the rocks into the crystal clear waters and explore the caves.

Every summer a number of festivals are organised in Ayia Napa that you should not miss. For instance, the Festival of Kataklysmos with traditional dances, poetry, singing, water sports, competitions and concerts. If you want to travel back in time you should not miss the Ayia Napa Medieval Festival whose activities represent the everyday life and events of those times. Also, during the "Flashbacks'' event the Cypriot customs revive in the neighbourhoods of Ayia Napa. Ayia Napa Internation Festival is also not to be missed if you like good music.

There is more to Ayia Napa though besides the sea, nightlife and festivals. Thalassa Municipal Museum of the Sea - which presents the impact and the significance of the sea upon the history of Cyprus during the centuries - worths a visit. Also, in the square of Ayia Napa one can find the Church of Saint Napa who gave its name to the area.

Ayia Napa is definitely in the top ten of the places to visit in Cyprus if not the top one. Do not miss it!
