Protaras is found in Ammochostos district and belongs to the municipality of Paralimini. It is one of the biggest and most famous touristic resorts in Cyprus due to its golden beaches such as Sunrise Beach, Fig Tree Bay and Cavo Maris Beach that are well known for their clean, crystal clear, blue waters. You can go swimming starting from May up until October but remember to put on sun cream especially if you have a fair skin complexion. In Protaras there is the possibility to do watersports such as parasailing and jet-skiing. A great idea is to go on a boat trip and see the whole coast of Ayia Napa and Protaras, go close to the ghost city of Ammochostos, view the impressive rock structures at the sea caves of Cape Greko and then take a swim in the blue sea. To get amazing views of the whole area you can visit the small church dedicated to the Saint and Prophet Elias which is located up in a hill, but definitely worths climbing the 153 stairs.

Protaras is also known for its lively nightlife mostly during the summer and attracts a huge amount of Cypriots and foreigners. It has a great number of pubs, bars, clubs - where you can have a beer or a cocktail with a view to the sea - and various taverns and restaurants - where you can try local specialties but also international cuisine. If you like festivals then you should not miss the chance to watch a nice movie under the summer sky of Protaras during the Summer Film Festival.

It goes without saying that in Protaras you can find a huge number of accommodation choices from 5 star hotels, villas to holiday houses and apartments.

Protaras is waiting for you!
